empties #2: home for the holidays edition

1. Aveeno Pure Renewal Conditioner- I bought this conditioner because it was marketed as sulfate-free. Now after doing much more research into sulfate-free haircare, I have found that many conditioners are sulfate-free. I was not really impressed with this conditioner. It was watery in consistency and did not moisturize my hair. I went through the bottle in about six washes because I had to use so much product to feel like I was getting moisture in my hair, and in the end, it didn’t do all that much. Glad that I have found other conditioners that I like better that contain no sulfates, because I will not repurchase this conditioner.

2. Philosophy Purity Cleanser- this tends to get quite a bit of hate sometimes in the beauty community because its called purity but has a shit ton of chemicals in it. BUT, I still really like. I probably would never buy the full size bottle because it would take me ages and ages to get through it, and I like to switch things up. I will definitely repurchase this face cleanser. It felt as though it was really cleansing my skin, and my face felt refreshed after using it.

3. Colure True Color Care Richly Moisture Conditioner- a while back, I dyed my hair red. My stylist recommended this line of products to help keep the red color in my hair. I am now back to blonde, but still enjoy this line of haircare. It smells amazing. Fruity and tropical and the smell lingers in your hair. This conditioner is watery in consistency, but moisturizes your hair nonetheless. It is on the expensive side at $25 for this small bottle. I would repurchase this product but not in the recent future. I have found other sulfate-free products that are much cheaper. But I will really miss this product for its wonderful smell.

4. Rivage Shower Gel in Cool- this is something that I bought while in Jordan. It is from a dead sea mineral product and line, Rivage, which is a French company that has rights to dead sea minerals to create these products. I find that having really dry skin, dead sea body washes tend to leave a bit more moisture into my skin-at least the ones that were in the hotel bathrooms. However, I do not feel as though this body wash was a good as those. I was super disappointed with this product. The smell was awful. It smelled like a grandma product. Now I do not mean that in an offensive way, but it was something that I feel like my grandma would have enjoyed the smell of. All in all, I would not repurchase this item.

5. Slatkin & Co Frosted Cranberry Candle- this was my first slatkin and co candle, and my favorite out of all the Christmas scents. I found many of them to be something that was either too sickly sweet or too musky. I find that I am very picky when it comes to candle scents. I tend to stay within the same vein of scents, and I tend to buy the same ones over and over again.

6. Bath & Body Works Paris Daydream Candle- I love Paris (shocking) and when I saw this candle, I had to have it. On top of it, it smelled absolutely amazing. Very much a scent that I would repurchase. I hope that B&BW keeps these city themes candles around, because I also purchased the London candle-which was tea and lemon scented!

7. Fairy Drops (Sample)- I hated this mascara. At first I really liked the way it made my lashes look, but after the first use, my opinion went downhill. I think it was one of those fiber mascaras because there was all kinda little hairs sticking off the brush. It was also one of those brushes that kinda looks like continuing figure eights, if that make any sense, made putting on mascara to my bottom lashes really difficult. This was the only mascara I brought home for the holidays, and because I hated so much I had to go out and buy another one.
